Savvy Summers and the Po’boy Perils.

I did not read the first Savvy Summer’s book which is probably why it was hard for me to follow in the beginning. With that in mind, I feel as though I would’ve had a better experience in the first few chapters had I had read the first book. This was very interesting towards the end with all of the twist. I could see this being a series and having more books. I could see this story continuing on and following Savvy’s journey. I do like cozy mysteries, so I did enjoy this book. It was digestible and easy to read. Obviously this is a murder mystery book, but it wasn’t graphic. The author didn’t linger on the murder too long where it would be come uncomfortable. This was a fast read. I enjoyed the culture and the atmosphere. I enjoyed Savvy’s restaurant and the south side of Chicago. Again, because I didn’t read the first book of the series it took me a minute to get into the story but that’s on me. I would definitely recommend reading the first savvy summers book and then reading this book. With all that being said, I did wait with bated breath to figure out who was the killer and I am so glad that I stuck it out even when I was confused at some points.
